Following the completion of the effective advancement season for the 570S GT4, the most recent GT model from McLaren will go back to the British GT Championship for this year. Enhancing the McLaren existence on the grid will be McLaren Automotive Test Driver Gareth Howell who signs up with client team In2Racing, driving among the group’s two-car assault on the GT4 championship.
In his function as Test Driver, Howell has been associated with the development of the three-tier design range from McLaren– Super Series, Ultimate Series and, most recently, the Sports Series– since he signed up with the business in 2010. He maes his British GT debut this season, bringing great amount of experience contending across the UK with multiple British Touring Car Championship race wins from 2000 and 2008. For the seven-round season, 36-year-old Howell will be joined by fellow ex-BTCC motorist Richard Marsh. With the 570S GT4, the pair will be up against among the biggest and most diverse GT4 fields in series’ history. The In2Racing program brings the existing number of verified customer-run McLaren 570S GT4s in the championship to 4, along with UK-based teams Tolman Motorsport and Track Club.
The 2017 British GT Championship includes a mix of sprint and endurance races, checking out each of the UK’s major circuits consisting of Silverstone, Brands Hatch, Rockingham and Donington Park, in addition to a journey to the legendary Ardennes forest in Belgium to race at Medspa Francorchamps.
Round 1 of the British GT Championship is scheduled for 15-17 April at Oulton Park.
