If you are, by chance, wondering what kind of SUVs you should get among the Volkswagen Tiguan, Jeep Grand Cherokee and the Land Rover, well, you may want to take this particular SUV into consideration. For your information, the Chinese automaker Sichuan Yema has managed to combine all of the aforementioned SUVs into one, the T70. The car has been launched only recently.
For those who think that the name Sichuan Yema is kind of familiar, it is perhaps because the company – which is based in Chengdu, China – once created an SUV resembling the Lamborghini Urus, with the archaic platform from the Austin Rover Maestro underpinning it. Now, this Chinese company in particular is once again showing what it is capable of by launching the new T70 vehicle model. Instead of having to choose among the Jeep, Land Rover and VW branded SUVs mentioned above, the Sichuan Yema T70 gives customers a combination of all them. The visual styling cues of the Chinese SUV seem to be inspired a lot by the design of the Volkswagen Tiguan. Yet, as for the front grille, it allegedly imitates the design featured on the Land Rover. Then, at the rear fascia of the car, the taillights look like they have been adopted from the Jeep Grand Cherokee. Also, when you step into the cabin of the vehicle, you will sense the atmosphere of the VAG for the onboard vehicle infotainment system.
Going under the hood of the vehicle, the Sichuan Yema T70 relies on a 1.8L 4-cylinder engine that is capable of outputting 131 bhp and 170 Nm of power and torque, respectively. Power is sent to the wheels of the vehicle by means of a 5-speed manual transmission. For an alternative, however, customers can also get a 6-speed continuously variable transmission (CVT) which will give the engine a total power output and torque of 158 bhp and 215 Nm, respectively.
Last but not least, the Sichuan Yema T70 also comes with independent MacPherson strut suspensions (front) and multi-link suspensions (rear), disc brakes on all four wheels and also a hydraulic steering system.
