Mercedes and McLaren are building the last examples of the SLR

Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren Stirling Moss, 300 SLR, SLR Coupé, SLR 722 Edition, SLR Roadster, SLR Roadster 722 SIn 2004 Mercedes-Benz and McLaren jointly started the production of the SLR supercar. Five variants in the SLR family have been produced – two coupés, two roadster versions and finally the SLR Stirling Moss.

The SLR Stirling Moss is limited to just 75 examples. In total 2000 SLR models have been produced.

Even though the production ends the spirit will live on as an SLR also represents a membership ticket to the SLR. CLUB, where gentleman-drivers regularly meet on SLR related events.

Regular SLR(Coupe and Roadster) has a 5.5-litre V8 supercharged making 626 hp, in the 722 Edition and Stirling Moss version it produces 650 hp.

SLR Stirling Moss is a different kind of supercar, it has no windshield, but that does not stop it from reaching 100 km/h in less than 3.5 seconds. Top speed is 350 km/h (217 mph).

Last batch of the SLR’s will leave the factory end of this month. Even though the “happy marriage” between Mercedes and McLaren is over there are other supercars coming from both companies. McLaren is working on their own MP4-12C and Mercedes AMG division is bringing us a 571 horsepower SLS AMG.
