The luxury German automaker, Mercedes-Benz, is reportedly working on a facelift version of its A45 AMG model. Although the company has yet to introduce the car to the public, someone has found a way to snatch some images of the vehicle in the works. These spy images here are the first ever images of the vehicle and they show the car with only a minimum level of disguise.
Caught on camera somewhere in the southern region of the European continent, the test mule seems to have been given camouflage only on its headlamps, taillights, front grille and the front and rear bumpers. Taking that into consideration, there is a good chance that only these elements will be getting updates. The sides of the car even look exactly the same as the present generation model. The same may also be said about the interior of the vehicle, with the exception of some minor revisions.
So far, the only major change that the facelifted variant of the A45 AMG from Mercedes-Benz will be bringing is its engine. Just as a kind reminder, the present generation A45 AMG features a turbocharged 2.0L 4-cylinder engine that has 360 HP of power output in total. Yet, rumor has it, the facelift version will spit out at least 380 HP of power from the same engine. If this is to be believed, the facelifted variant of the German vehicle will be powerful enough to beat the Audi RS3 Sportback.
Speaking of the performance of the car, it may tackle the 0-100 km/h sprint in just 4.6 seconds or even less, similar to the time required by the present generation non-facelift model. Likewise, its top speed may also be electronically limited to 250 km/h.
The 2016 Mercedes-Benz A45 AMG facelift will expectedly make its debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September this year.
