Mercedes-Benz has officially presented the B 200 Natural Gas Drive and the B-Class Electric Drive during the 2012 Paris Motor Show.

The wait for these cars was from a long time, and it seems that the wait turned out to be boon for Mercedes Enthusiasts.

The German automaker says that the Mercedes Benz B 200 Natural Gas Drive is the first B-Class model to get the typically produced and titled ENERGY SPACE modular body concept, which actually adds a partial double floor under the rear seat, in order to make room for larger natural gas container or say for two smaller units. It is said that the natural gas containers can fill up 125 liters of natural gas and this model is 50% more fuel efficient, while it emits 16% less CO2 in comparison to the regular gasoline version.

Under the hood one gets to see a 156 HP (115 kW) engine, with which the figures of the Mercedes Benz B 200 Natural Gas Drive goes like this, when running on gas, the Benz has a range of 500 km (310 miles) and with that it can zoom up from 0-100 km/h (62 mph) in 9.1 seconds before reaching a top speed of 200 km/h (124 mph). The engine of this Mercedes-Benz B 200 Natural Gas Drive is collaborated to a manual transmission or to a 7G-DCT (dual clutch transmission). The fuel efficiency of this Benz is something that really annoys a person, it burns an average of 4.2 liters of fuel every 100 km and it emitts 115 g/km of CO2.

Besides the B 200 Natural Gas Drive, the German automaker Mercedes-Benz has also brought the B-Class Electric drive to the 2012 Paris Motor Show.

The automaker says that this vehicle is a near-production ready MPV(multi-purpose vehicle) which is developed in partnership with Tesla and it will be sold in selective markets from 2014. The B-Class Electric drive is part of the zero emission model offensive which includes the SLS Electric Drive. This EV model comes with 134 BHP and 228 lb-ft of torque. Electrical energy is provided by a lithium-ion battery pack and with that battery in stock, the vehicle has a range of 200 km.

More details will be soon posted on this EV and B200 from the Mercedes Benz, stay tuned.
