Mercedes-Benz has officially launched the E-Class L in the ongoing 2013 Auto Shanghai Show.
The car is a long wheelbase version of the recently improvised E-Class model which will be sold exclusively in China. The premium sedan has an overall length of 5019 mm and its wheelbase has been expanded by 140 mm to 3014 mm, which helps to increase the legroom space for the rear passengers by 14 cm.
The E-Class L will be available with a choice of two front fascias, normal Sedan with its traditional radiator grille in three-louvre look with the M-B logo on the top and Sport Sedan with the big star centrally positioned on the grille. The Sport sedan also comes with AMG front and rear aprons, side skirts and wheels.
The E 260 L Blue EFFICIENCY model that will be offered on sale would be fitted with a direct-injection 4-cylinder engine capable of producing 204 HP (150 kW), followed by the E 300 L with its 6-cylinder engine with an output of 245 HP (180 kW) and the range topping variant E 400 L with a 6-cylinder engine with an output of 333 HP (245 kW). All the variants would come with an automatic transmission gearbox as a standard feature.
The company has also stated that additional variants will soon join this line up including n E 400 L Hybrid which was displayed as a show car in the ongoing Shanghai show.
