Mercedes-Benz announced last month that it would bring its C450 AMG Sport to the 2015 Detroit Auto Show. Now, this has become reality as the German company officially unveils the vehicle in question in Detroit. The car will reportedly enter the slot below the company’s C63 AMG model and will make use of a 3.0L V6 engine equipped with twin turbochargers. This gives the car a total power of 362 bhp and a total torque of 517 Nm.
In addition to that engine, Mercedes-Benz is also going to equip the vehicle with the all-wheel-drive (AWD) 4MATIC drivetrain and a revised 7-speed 7G-TRONIC automatic transmission. This enables the car to have quite a high acceleration. It needs just 4.9 seconds to go from 0 to 100 km/h. Its top speed, unfortunately, is limited electronically to only 250 km/h.
Aside from its high performance, the Mercedes-Benz C450 AMG Sport is also coming with quite a few rather exciting goodies. These include firmer suspensions, a modified front axle, adjustable dampers and new front pull rods. The car sits on 18-inch bespoke alloy wheels. The tires of the vehicles are backed by ventilated steel disc brakes featuring grey calipers. On the rear end of the car, customers will be able to spot a boot lid spoiler and smoked chrome exhaust pipes.
There are not too many changes on the interior, though. The car comes with standard elements like a steering wheel with a flat bottom, alloy pedals, sport seats, red stitches, red seatbelts and some other minor visual modifications.
A number of media in existence out there are reporting that the luxury German car manufacturer is most likely to start opening the order book for the Mercedes-Benz C450 Sport AMG vehicle model in a one month’s time window. Whether that is to be believed has yet to be seen.
