Mercedes-Benz has recently published few images showing the interior cabin of the all-new C-Class (W205), following a teaser video that was released recently.
The cabin design follows the recent trend of Mercedes-Benz passenger models, featuring a refined layout (with the exception of the touchscreen display) and a premium finish. It will be offered as standard with a 7-inch free-standing central display or an optional 8.4-inch color monitor along with an optional head-up display and a touch-controlled pad.
The cabin also gets an innovative AC system which uses GPS data to detect tunnels to automatically close the air recirculation flap so that fume filled air won’t enter the cabin. The new C-Class will also have a front passenger seat featuring a sensor which will disengage the front passenger airbag once it detects a child seat is in place.
The company further claims that the 2014 C-Class will have a “best in class” weight and an unparalleled structural integrity for this segment. Depending on the engine selected, the new model will be lighter by up to 100 kg (220 lbs) as compared with its predecessor which will also result in a 20 percent fuel consumption reduction without affecting power.
