Mercedes SLS AMG Black Series to cost 249,900 EUR

Mercedes has disclosed that the SLS AMG Black Series will carry a price tag of €249,900 when it will be put on block this year.

The Black Series is characterized by an unique body kit that includes new bumpers, flared fenders, revised side skirts and a rear diffuser. The car also has a carbon fiber rear wing, tinted headlights and 19- / 20-inch wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires.

Power gets boost from a 6.2-liter V8 engine that has been fitted with a fully altered high-speed train with modified camshafts, changed cam geometry and optimized bucket tappets carrying a special coating that is used on other vehicles. This allows the engine to emit 622 bhp (464 kW) and 468 lb-ft (634 Nm) of torque. The engine is attached to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission which allows the speedster to speed up from 0-60 mph in 3.5 seconds and reach a top speed of 196 mph (315 km/h).

The speedster also carries an Adaptive Performance suspension, carbon ceramic brakes and a locking rear differential . Other features include a carbon fiber torque tube, a CFRP drive shaft and also a lightweight lithium-ion battery. The changes allows the car to weigh 154 lbs (70 kg) less than the normal model.
