The newest release from Mercedes Benz is one of the most stylish cars that you would ever spot on the road. It is a luxury grand toured automobile that was initially designed to replace the older Mercedes Benz SLR McLaren. Revealed to the general public at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show, the Mercedes Benz SLS AMG managed to capture the hearts and minds of many people, and was rumored to be one of the most popular cars when it would be actually released. Production started in 2010 and the car has hit the roads already. Presently, you can buy a Mercedes Benz SLS AMG for around 157,500 pounds. It’s certainly not what you would call cheap, but the car packs a solid punch and only the driver can tell you the feeling of driving one of these sleek new beauties by Mercedes Benz.
Around four different versions of the Mercedes Benz SLS AMG are being produced at the moment. The first one is the traditional coupe with Gullwing doors, because the car was made as the direct successor to the Mercedes 300SL Gullwing. Another Desert Gold version was put on show in 2009 at the Dubai International Auto Show. However, rumors are fresh that in 2011-2013 Mercedes would be manufacturing a roadster, with the traditional doors and a soft, convertible top. An electrically powered version is also in the pipeline, which is probably going to be a coupe. The last that Mercedes have promised to design is the Black Series version, which would have its weight reduced by around three hundred kilograms, resulting in much faster speeds and acceleration.
Another variant of the Mercedes Benz is going to be released, designed specifically for racing purposes. The SLS GT3 shall be unveiled in 2010 at the New York Auto Show and shall be a competitor in the national GT3 championships in 2011.
