The MG GTS crossover vehicle model is set to make its world debut in China next year. However, prior to its debut, the British automaker, MG, has officially taken the veil off the aforementioned vehicle model. Basically, the car will be an evolution version of the CS concept vehicle that MG showed off during the Shanghai Auto Show last year.
According to the latest reports, the MG GTS crossover will come with a 2.0L engine with four cylinders under the hood. With this engine, owners of the vehicle will be able to expect a peak power output of 217 hp in addition to a peak torque of 349 Nm. The power of the car will be delivered by its engine to all its wheels by means of a 6-speed dual clutch gearbox. However, the all-wheel-drive system will be made available in the form of an on-demand system. Thanks to its engine, drivetrain and transmission, the MG GTS takes only eight seconds to go from a complete standstill to the velocity of 100 km/h.
It has also been reported that the crossover vehicle model in question will also come with other engine options besides the one mentioned earlier. After all, the automaker has been working on new GDI engines. These engines will be available with different capacities, which are, 1.0 liter, 1.4 liters and also 1.5 liters. They are likely to feature three cylinders. It is said that the automaker is also working on another version of the dual clutch gearbox which will prove to be more affordable than the one mentioned above. This gearbox is expected to deliver 223 Nm of torque and customers will be able to enjoy it at certain point of time in 2015.
Speaking of the GTS crossover model, MG has officially announced that it will first sell the vehicle in China. Sales are to start during the first half of 2015.
