Mitsubishi evaluating how Kobe Steel parts impacted by false data

Mitsubishi Motors is checking how components from providers including Kobe Steel Ltd parts have been impacted by the steelmaker’s falsified information on product quality, the chief executive of the automaker stated on Wednesday.

“The number of parts from suppliers which we’ve been informed have been impacted by the Kobe Steel issue has been increasing, and this is increasing our work,” Mitsubishi Motors CEO Osamu Masuko informed a briefing.

“We are working with our parts providers to get a complete picture of the impact,” he stated.
