Although there may be just a handful of people who are aware of Skoda branded cars, let alone willing to buy them, the company can actually offer pretty nice vehicles. As a matter of fact, the company has just made available a sketch for its next generation sedan, the Skoda Superb. Before the unveiling of the official company sketch, there have also been quite a few images that depict prototypes of this car in considerably heavy camouflage.
Looking at the official sketch, it is clear that the Skoda Superb sedan will borrow most of the styling cues from the company’s concept car, the VisionC. With that being said, the car will most likely sport a prominent front grille as well as a muscular hood, making it look not only attractive but masculine as well. To make it look even more aggressive, the car is also going to sport swept back headlights, complete with LED daytime running lights.
According to the company, this car will prove to be the best Skoda ever and it will be targeted to the mid-class market segment and above. The chassis of the vehicle will utilize the MQB platform, which is lighter by 75 kg if compared to its predecessor.
According to reports, the base model Skoda Superb will have a 1.4L engine with 125 hp. This model will be available for $31,200. Other options include a 1.8 TSI petrol engine in addition to 1.6L and 2.0L diesel engines. The expected power outputs are 260 hp, 120 hp and 190 hp, respectively.
If you, by chance, are looking forward to seeing the car for yourself and finding out the spec sheet that the car can actually offer, you are quite lucky. The Skoda Superb is going to make its debut in February 2015, which is just about two months away.
