After providing a series of teaser images, Toyota Yaris facelift has been finally revealed in the Philippines. It is the second significant update to the Yaris sedan since the current generations’ introduction in the ASEAN region in 2013.
The Yaris is also known by the name ‘Vios’ in the Philippines. The recently updated model will likely be introduced in other countries such as Malaysia, Singapore, and Taiwan in the time to come.
The facelifted Yaris has embraced new evolutionary changes at the front fascia such as classier looking full LED headlamps, bigger secondary air dam, and a more Lexus-inspired grille adding to a sharper look. The bumper now also includes new L-shaped foglights enclosures. The rear section has no major modifications and has been carried over as is.
Inside the vehicle, the Yaris has got a newly updated infotainment system having Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Meanwhile, other features such as roof-mounted AC vents, automatic climate control, sunroof, etc., have been taken from the pre-facelift model. It also has kept its existing cabin and dash layout without any major revisions.
Some of its major safety features include 7 airbags, ABS with EBD, ESP, keyless entry with push-button start, vehicle stability control, cruise control, Eco, and Sport engine modes, among other features.
In terms of mechanicals, the Philippines-spec Yaris facelift continues to have the same 97 PS, 1.3-litre and 105 PS, 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated petrol engine options. Its transmission options consist either a 5-speed manual or a 7-step CVT automatic.
