Next-generation Volkswagen Polo headed to the U.S.

by SpeedLux

As per the recent report, a Volkswagen spokesperson has confirmed the company’s entry-level crossover and the next-generation Polo will be sold in the market of the United States.

Expected to arrive not before the year 2017, the crossover will reportedly be based on the MQB platform and could adopt styling cues from the Taigun concept that debuted at the 2012 Sao Paulo Motor Show. Details of engine options are not available as of now but previous reports have indicated it could be offered three- and four-cylinder units.

The Polo will be closely related to the crossover but will eschew the rugged styling and off-road capabilities. There are few speculation also which suggest there will be an electric variant but again very little is available as of now about it.

Irrespective of the final details, both models will slot below Jetta which is currently priced from $16,720.
