Nissan Motor CEO Hiroto Saikawa stated on Thursday he has not heard of discussions about the possibility that its French partner Renault SA was thinking about a bid for Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA).

When inquired by reporters whether he had heard about the discussions, cited in a media report the recently, Saikawa answered: “Not at all”.

The Financial Times reported on Wednesday that Renault aims to restart merger talks with Nissan within 1 year, after which it would set its sights on a bid to purchase Fiat Chrysler.
