Nissan to Combine IDx and Z into One

Every huge Nissan lover out there must know that this particular automaker from Japan has such a huge love for its Z sports cars. Rumor has it the company is currently working hard, trying to prepare a whole brand new sports car with the Z emblem. However, some reports on the World Wide Web pages also mention that the Japanese automaker may as well introduce a sports version of its new IDx concept cars, which the company previewed to the public last year. Well, according to the Motor Authority, both the IDx and the Z sports car may come together as one single model, combined.

It seems that this is very likely. Nissan itself, after all, has confirmed that it will only present two sports cars to the public in the near future. Nissan has revealed this during the 2014 Paris Motor Show, through Shiro Nakamura, the senior vice president and design chief at the company. Of course, those who have been keeping an eye on the news from Nissan are most likely aware already that the Japanese automaker is currently working on the next generation GT-R as well. With that being said, only one more sports car is most likely to come to the market.

Speaking of the company’s upcoming Z sports car, Nakamura describes the model as a sports car that looks and feels simple yet it has no less than 50 years of history. Now, according to Nakamura, Nissan’s homework is to think of how it can possibly come up with a new generation Z sports car. In addition to that, Nakamura also mentions that Nissan desires to keep the GT-R on the high-end super sports car side of the market whereas the Z sports car, or the IDx, on the more affordable side of the sports car market.
