Nissan motors have recently released their brand new eco-car the Almera 2012 in Thailand. The hatchback is supposed to be environment friendly and passes all the norms of green automotive initiative introduced by the Thailand government. Nissan has also launched other eco-cars in Thailand in the last year.
The Almera makes use of its nifty idling system in order to efficiently regulate the exhaust emissions and gasoline consumption. Nissan alleges that by using this innovative technology, the fuel consumption has been improved to 20 kilometers per liter of gasoline and the CO2 emissions have been brought down to 120 grams per kilometer. The customers can choose between the Xtronic CVT and a 5-speed manual transmission. Under the hood, the Almera is equipped with a 3 cylinder 1200cc engine that gives an output of 79 horsepower and torque of 106 Nm.
The Almera has been built on a special framework which increases the sturdiness of the car body and at the same time decreases the weight of the car structure. This platform thus helps to improve the mileage without comprising on the safety of car. It is presently available for purchase in six different colors. Nissan Motors Thailand (NMT) is currently producing the Almera at their Samutprakarn facility.
Nissan released a press statement that this model was developed keeping the Thai government’s eco-car program in mind and they will keep working to produce even better eco-cars in the future. NMT had introduced the Nissan March last year to become the first automobile manufacturer to produce eco-cars in Thailand.
