Nissan is recalling 20.000 Altimas Due Suspension Bolt

On the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s website, Nissan has announced the recalling of 20.000 units of the 2011 – 2012 Altima model in the United States.

According to this announcement, the 2011 – 2012 Altima sedans might have transverse link bolts that weren’t properly tightened and this could allow the bolt to become loose and cause a vibration or a rattling noise. Beside this, if the bolt comes out completely, the driver won’t be able to control the vehicle too easily and this could end with an car accident, so it could become a serious problem.

So far, even though the recall will affect 20.000 cars, the problem found on the 2011 – 2012 Altimas didn’t result in an accident, according the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

Firstly, the defect which led to the recall was discovered on June the 6th. After that, Nissan Motor Co. has notified the dealers on July 18 and the owners will be announced starting from this Monday.
