Nissan Motor stated on Wednesday its U.S. auto plants will remain closed through late April to help decrease the spread of the coronavirus.
The Japanese automaker stated some business-essential work will continue with improved safety measures. Nissan reported earlier its first quarter U.S. sales were down 30%.
About 215,344 people in the US have been confirmed as being infected with the coronavirus. The virus has killed 5,112 people in the country.
