According to the latest reports, Porsche is planning to develop the most iconic version of the well known 991 Series. The new model will be unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show, in March 2013, and after that the bookings will soon begin.
If the Sources are to believed then they point out that, the new Porsche GT3 will be powered by latest evolution of Porsche’s motosport engine, the naturally aspirated 3.8-liter, or else the larger 4.0-litre engine, which at one pont of time was used in the 997 generation GT3 4.0. They also presume that the engine will be able to deliver 450bhp in the new GT3, a more of 15bhp than in the outgoing model, which conveys that this car will be able to do a sprint of 0-100kmh in less than 4 seconds and a top speed of 200mph. Well talking about the Transmission that the new Posrche is likely to have, will be a PDK seven-speed, dual-clutch automatic, the lack of a manual option will definetly disappoint and create diffrences among the 911 pursuits, specially because the 911 switched to electric steering, and this PDK transmission is heavier than the manual version.
The sources also state that the new version has shedded off 40kg of the total weight, making the car weigh 1359kg. To achieve this Porsche ommited the rear seats, and they will scrap out much of the interior to make it as light as possible.
The look of the car makes it easy to diffrentiate it from the base Carerra and Carrera S model, The leaked image showus that there is a new front splitter, a new bumper, air ducts which have been made wide, and also a extra air intake between the bonnet and the top of the front bumper, Flared wheel arches, wider sills, and 20-inch alloy wheels. The most catchy element is at the rear, the fixed wing, and the rear exhausts have been placed at the center of the car’s back.
