The first alleged picture of the Porsche 911 Blu Edition has surfaced on the net, ahead of a possible debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show.
With not so impressive looks, the Blu Edition comes with a Riviera Blue exterior with contrasting Guards Red accents. The color combination leaves a lot to be desired, but the model is slated to feature a removable hard top that weighs 22 kg (49 lbs) and is held in place by an electronic locking mechanism.
Under the hood, power will reportedly be provided by a detuned 3.4-liter engine that would generate 300 HP (223 kW) and 287 Nm (211 lb-ft) of torque. it is expected to be connected to a PDK transmission which would enable the model to accelerate from 0-100 kmph (0-62 mph) in just 5.4 seconds and can hit a top speed of 266 kmph (165 mph).
The engine is also expected to feature an improved start/stop system and cylinder deactivation technology. This, along with an active shutter grille and a new Porsche regeneration system, could enable the model to return 6.4 L/100 km (36.7 mpg US / 44.1 mpg UK) with CO2 emissions of 152 g/km.
The Blu Edition could be offered exclusively to Porsche Club members and may cost around €74,600.
