Possible Jaguar XE SVR Spotted

Some media have been reporting that the luxury British automaker, Jaguar, is working on a new variant for its XE vehicle lineup. Well, it seems like these media may be right, after all. Only recently, a new test mule from the British company has been spotted and it could very well be the SVR variant of the XE lineup. The car has been spotted undergoing some tests at Stuttgart, Germany.

Some reports, however, indicate that this test mule is actually the prototype version of either the BMW 4-Series or the M4. Nonetheless, if we take a closer look at the rear window as well as the taillights that the vehicle sports, there is a huge chance that this test mule is the Jaguar XE instead. This is ironic considering that the video description mentions it is a BMW model. Yet, Jaguar is known to be prepping the SVR variant of its XE. The Jaguar XE SVR will be designated as the top of the range model. So, the spotting of this test mule may well prove to be the very first time ever that the luxury sedan from Britain is spotted.

Speaking of the upcoming Jaguar XE SVR, it will reportedly boast a supercharged 5.0L V8 engine. Paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission, the car will have a total power output of 489 hp. The transmission is expected to shift faster than that of the standard variant of the sedan. It is supposedly capable of taking the car from a standstill to the speed of 100 km/h in a mere four seconds. Its top speed, meanwhile, will be limited electronically to just 250 km/h.

It is the team at the Jaguar Land Rover Special Vehicle Operations division that will reportedly design the Jaguar XE SVR. The car is expected to arrive at dealerships early 2016 and will seemingly be offered at approximately $100,000.
