Premiere: Official Specifications of the new BMW 1 Series

We talked about this subject before, but this time the rumors are confirmed. The german brand published today on their official site the final Specifications of the new BMW 1 Series 116d, 118d, 120d, 116i and 118i. Here you can find some of the technical details of the new BMW 1 Series.

It seems that BMW engineers have worked diligently and managed to reach a finite impeccable form.

BMW 1 Series engine technology for 116d, 118d, 120d models includes BMW TwinPower Turbo technology with variable-geometry turbocharger, common-rail direct fuel injection with magnetic valve injectors, maximum injection pressure – 1600 bar (BMW 120d – 1800 bar). The engine will have a capacity of 1995 cc.

The other two models of brand (116i and 118i) are equipped with BMW TwinPower Turbo technology with twin-scroll turbocharger, HighPrecision Injection, VALVETRONIC fully variable valve control and Double-VANOS variable camshaft control. The engine capacity will be of 1598 cc.

Features included as standard Braking Energy Regeneration, electromechanical power steering, Automatic Start/Stop function, gear shift indicator (manual), ECO PRO mode, intelligent lightweight construction, automatically disconnecting ancillary components, map-regulated oil pump, switchable air conditioning compressor (BMW 116d), differential with optimized-warm-up behaviour, tyres with reduced rolling resistance.

For transmission it is the six speed manual gearbox that BMW would be fitting on all their cars with the 8 speed automatic transmission system being offered as an option replacing the earlier 6 speed auto box.
