Radical RXC & RXC Turbo approved for street use in the U.S. [video]

by SpeedLux

Radical has recently announced that the RXC and RXC Turbo have been approved for street-legal use in the United States.

This is indeed a big achievement for Radical as so many others have failed previously. Radical had worked closely with American RXC owner Jeffrey Cheng to get the car approved and the company states that “the task is traditionally difficult with low-volume British sportscars.”

Despite the difficulties, Radical claims that the RXC has been designed to meet stringent Small-Series Type Approval regulations for both Europe and worldwide in all key criteria areas that include visibility, crash safety, noise and emissions, enabling a swift and straight-forward completion of the process.

As previously reported, the RXC comes fitted with a 3.7-liter V6 engine that generates an output of 380 hp (283 kW) and 320 lb-ft (433 Nm) of torque. On the other hand, the RXC Turbo comes fitted with a 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 engine with rated at 460 HP (338 kW) and 678 Nm (500 lb-ft) of torque. The latter model can achieve the 0-60 mph (0-96 kmph) sprint in just 2.6 seconds and can hit a top speed of 185 mph (298 kmph).
