Couple of days ago, a three-year market high was reached after a 1954 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Gullwing was sold at $1.9 million.

The Gullwing offered by RK Motors Charlotte remained in outstanding condition, both its appearance as well as its engine. The car only had one owner for the past five decades and also clocked about 45, 697 miles on its odometer. The fact that it was completely recovered and features original devices, publications and stomach pans in addition to an optional Nardi steering wheel represented its record high cost.

The Gullwing was regarded as the fastest road-going vehicle during its time. Its full throttle exceeds 160 miles per hour as well as it showcased a direct injection gas engine, which is the very first in production automobiles. While the direct shot system is not the same as the existing array of manufacturing automobiles, it was innovative in the 1950s. The Gullwing nicknamed is formed on the trademark door of the 1954 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Gullwing.
