Certain new details have been revealed recently about the Renault’s upcoming lineup modifications.
The next all-new model riding on the CMF2 platform developed along with Nissan is Escape which is scheduled to come out towards the end of 2014, following the Initiale Paris preview concept showcased earlier at IAA. In 2015, Renault plans on introducing a new generation of the Megane which will contain more models than the current family. In fact 2015 will also be the year when the new Twingo will be introduced whose styling was previewed by the Twin’Run concept.
After that, the company plans to introduce a Megane-based crossover riding on the same CMF2 platform which will essentially be Renault’s version of the second-gen Nissan Qashqai. Scenic will be more of a flexible SUV but at the same time maintaining its MPV roots, as confirmed by firm’s design boss Laurens van den Acker.
The new Laguna will be completely new as compared to the current generation which has not been among the best in terms of sales. The model won’t be sold in the UK markets due to a bad sales history while the Escape will also receive the same fate because the company states that the car hasn’t been engineered for right-hand drive.
