Renault has signed on as an official Technical Partner of Spark Racing Technology to build cars for the Formula E Championship. This means we will soon get to see the race cars built from the joint venture of both.
Not much detail is available as of now but the agreement between the two requires 42 Formula E cars to be built for the beginning of the first season and they will be called as “Spark- Renault”.
In the coming months, the engineers from Renault Sport F1 and Renault Sport Technologies will team up with Spark Racing Technology to optimize the performance of the car’s powertrain. They are hoping that this venture will significantly increase the safety and reliability of the car.
Renault’s Executive Vice President of Corporate Planning, Product Planning & Programs Philippe Klein said that Renault has demonstrated a unique commitment to zero-emission mobility, with a range of four cars available for sale. He further stated that Formula E is an exciting opportunity for them to demonstrate the excellence and the reliability of their EV solutions.
