French automaker Renault’s partnership with Japanese automaker Nissan Motor has entered an “incredibly positive” phase following episodes of strained relations in recent times, the Renault’s chairman Jean-Dominique Senard said on Thursday.
“We’ve put the work in, we’re in an incredibly positive dynamic,” Senard informed a hearing in France’s lower house of parliament, after Renault and Nissan presented strategies to deepen their collaboration in May.
The government and automakers had enforced shutdowns of factories to control the spread of the coronavirus pandemic.
Senard added that Renault was confident that auto sales, which have ground to a stop during the coronavirus pandemic and ensuing lockdowns, would pick up again in France this year.
