As per a new report, Audi bosses have agreed for an A3-based MPV which could come fitted with the V4 moniker.
This new MPV model will supposedly be offered in five- and seven-seat configurations and ride on the MQB platform. Audi has in fact already built a concept for this new model but they are not sure yet whether the same should be displayed at Frankfurt Motor Show that will be held next month. A production version should be out in about three years from now.
This is certainly not the first time that we got to hear about an Audi A3 MPV. Last year in July, former sales and marketing chief of Audi Peter Schwarzenbauer said that the car would ride on an enlarged version of the MQB platform and be offered with a wide variety of power units, including a 180 hp (134 kW) 1.8-liter TFSI engine, a 222 hp (166 kW) 2.0-liter TFSI engine, along with a 2.0-liter TDI available with outputs of 141 hp (105 kW) and 175 hp (130 kW).
If the speculations are to be believed, there were also talks about a hybrid version featuring a 1.4-liter TFSI outputting 148 hp (110 kW) coupled to an electric motor generating 107 hp (80 kW).
