Report: Audi working on Volkswagen up!-based EV due 2015

by SpeedLux

Audi is allegedly working on an EV version of the Volkswagen up! which is expected to be out in somewhere 2015.

The new model is expected to adopt different exterior styling and a more upscale interior cabin which will come with a better infotainment system. The battery will provide enough charge for the car to run up to 125 miles (200 km) before recharging, more than the up! which can only run 93 miles (150 km) with its 18.7 kWh battery pack.

Not only that, Audi’s up! will also be more powerful than VW’s version as it is expected to provide 114 hp (85 kW) and 199 lb-ft (270 Nm) of torque from its electric motor which should be enough for the car to touch 0-62 mph (100 kmph) in a decent 9.3 seconds and will also have a top speed of 93 mph (150 kmph).

Well we have to say that the electric vehicle market is really heating up and there are some superb cars coming in this segment which will make customers go for these vehicles and become eco-friendly.
