Report : Kia planning more GT models

by SpeedLux

Kia is considering of expanding its GT lineup in the near future as per one of the insider with Kia.

The source said that if cee’d GT / pro_cee’d GT will be a success, then maybe other GT models will also follow. The source further hinted at a Rio GT to compete with the models like Peugeot 208 GTi and Ford Fiesta ST.

Nothing official as of now, but it can be expected that the Rio GT will be slower and less powerful than its above mentioned rivals, but will compensate with a lower price tag.

There is no plan as of yet to make a more powerful version of the pro_cee’d GT, but the Kia insider stated that the output of the 1.6-liter T-GDi turbocharged engine could be increased beyond the current 201 hp (150 kW) mark.
