As per a latest report, Citroën has plans to develop small production series of the DS3 Racing Cabrio.

As per one of the source from the company, currently Citroën is in the process of figuring out how many of these models to be produced and how these should be distributed before finally deciding to give a go ahead for the project. The production model is likely to come without the concept’s watchstrap leather on the seats and the DS-styled child’s seat.

The DS3 Racing Cabrio will come fitted with the same turbo 1.6-liter THP engine that would produce 202 hp (150 kW). In terms of styling, it should keep most of the cues seen on the concept version, including the 19-inch glossy black alloys and the black chrome inserts on the handles, mirrors and boot trim.

The same Citroën source has also indicated that the production of the cabrio will be lower than that of the coupe. Initially, the company built 1,000 units of the coupe but then doubled production to keep up with the increase in demand. However they are probably thinking that the cabriolet won’t be that popular and so the production number will be less and would be around 200 cars.
