Lincoln‘s international Director has disclosed the company is considering an affordable flagship.

Speaking to Edmunds, Matt VanDyke told “I assume the definition [of flagship] is quite changing” and a flagship does not essentially have to be the biggest or most costly model within the lineup.

VanDyke went on to mention they’re} eyeing the success of the Range Rover Evoque as “people are surprised to check the sort of statement that produces for the brand.”

The executive declined to mention if their flagship model would be a crossover rather than a sedan however he noted Lincoln will not move down market. As he explained, Ford has nice products in the $20,000 – $30,000 range and Lincoln’s goal is to “really entrench ourselves as a real luxury rival within the higher value points.”
