Despite the fact that the current generation Range Rover has been with us since 2002 and is better than ever, Land Rover will come with an all-new Range Rover to replace the current generation.
This replacement for Land Rover’s flagship Range Rover is due next year and, according to Insideline, as part of a major overhaul, the fourth-generation model will move even further upmarket than today’s Range Rover.
Some Inside Line’s sources said the next-generation Range Rover will soften its traditional boxy look and borrow styling cues from the recently launched Evoque, but this remains to be seen at that time.
The 2012 Range Rover’s successor will probablt retain the “floating” roof and, also expect the parallel lines that make up the upper and lower side window lines to converge, as they do on the Evoque. The Insideline’s sources also says the windshield will be “faster,” so it will be a bit more raked.
Prices:
– the current Range Rover is priced in U.S. from around $80,000, with the top-of-the-line Autobiography edition fetching as much as $130,000 with custom paint and other accessories
– the new model will come with a higher base pricing, potentially up to $200,000 or more
Specs:
– the new model will come with a a design and platform that can stretch to far higher levels
