Scion FR-S Convertible & subcompact crossover shown at annual dealer meeting – report

Scion was launched a decade ago with the idea of attracting the youth as much as possible but the brand has not received the required response and so it has failed to create the required impact.

Now in order to tackle this situation, Toyota has reportedly told dealers that they are free to decide if they want to leave the franchise and move away. The idea behind this is that if quite a few dealers opt out of Scion, it could result in an increase the number of sales per dealership which would help increase the company’s profitability.

While there could be a mass movement of Scion dealers moving out, but for those who decide to stay back, they can look forward to a rejuvenated product lineup. According to people who attended Toyota’s dealer meeting held earlier this month, Scion displayed an FR-S convertible and a rendering of a subcompact crossover.

The latter model is apparently smaller than the Toyota RAV4 and is already been considered as a competitor to Honda’s Fit-based crossover which has been already previewed by the Urban SUV concept. Both models are reportedly in the concept stage but the dealers expect them to go into production phase pretty soon.
