Scion FR-S / Toyota GT86 – Photos and Info

Site DefaultToyota14 years ago12 Views

The Scion FR-S is Toyota/Scion/Subaru’s way of taking the Porsche Cayman R head on. Powered by a 2.0-liter direct-and-port injection engine, that is able to produce 200 horsepower and 151-lb ft of torque, the FR-S is smaller than the Porsche, and the center of gravity is nearly as low (18.1 in comparison with 18.0 inches). Transmission is a six speed automatic with paddle shifters that also has a manual option. This, as you might have realized is no supercar. It’s just a plain old sports coupe – but a great one. It’s able to go from 0 to 60 in 7 seconds and hits a top speed of 150 mph. Although it’s not a car built for performance, it handles great on the track, and will be one of the best vehicles released under the Scion brand. This vehicle will have 17 inch wheels, and only weigh around 2400 lb. On the inside, there is a large tachometer mounted in the center, and the usual 2+2 seating configuration. This vehicle is also expected to sell good in the U.S., thanks to its great looks and acceptable performance and price. Starting at a cost price of around $30,000, the FR-S is expected to be available for purchase spring 2012.
