Four-times world rally champ Sebastien Ogier will race for the M-Sport Ford team next season as Volkswagen withdraws.
The Frenchman and co-driver Julien Ingrassia achieved victory in the last 4 titles in a row, with 38 rally victories.
“There will be a great deal of new things this season however I am absolutely eagerly anticipating it. We have a new generation of world rally automobiles and a new team. It’s definitely an amazing time,” Ogier stated.
M-Sport managing director Malcolm Wilson stated the team, who likewise have 2016 World Rally Championship driver of the year Ott Tanak of Estonia, would go to next month’s Monte Carlo season- opener with their greatest line-up in years.
“I have made no secret of what does it cost? We wished to deal with Sebastien and Julien and it is great to invite them to the group,” Wilson stated.
“We have worked incredibly tough to secure them and they think the Ford Fiesta WRC is the vehicle with which they can best protect their champion.”
Volkswagen revealed their exit previous month as part of a tactical shift to help the automaker overcome its emissions scandal.
