A Dutch media has recently released a report which indicates that the automaker Skoda is working its magic on a new version of the Superb. This one will reportedly be a wagon bearing the Scout moniker. According to the most recent reports, the car will be based on the Skoda Superb Combi. For your information, the latter has yet to make its launch as well.
Customers will be able to tell the difference between the Skoda Superb Combi and the Skoda Superb Scout by looking at a number of factors. Both models are going to have distinct body cladding made of the plastic material, raised suspension and also bespoke alloy wheels. As for the Skoda Superb Scout, the car is going to come with revised front and rear bumpers, underbody protection made of stainless steel material and also an all-wheel-drive (AWD) drivetrain. It is also reported that the car is going to have a lot of similarities with the Passat Alltrack from Volkswagen. In addition to that, the upcoming offering from Skoda may even take advantage of the XDS+ braking system of the VW Passat Alltrack as well. This will give the car better cornering maneuvers.
Report has it, the automaker Skoda is going to take the veil off the Superb Combi first before it will launch the Superb Scout. In case of the Combi, the company is going to hold a special presentation July this year. Then, in September 2015, the car will also make its world premiere at this year’s Frankfurt Motor Show. The car will have a similar look with the hatchback, only with elongated rear end. Thanks to that, the car will have bigger cargo volume when compared to the standard variant. In comparison, the standard variant can hold 625 liters of cargo without folding down the rear seats. Yet, when the rear seats are folded down, the total cargo capacity increases to 1,760 liters.
For those interested, the Skoda Superb Scout is likely to come out in the middle of 2016.
