SsangYong has recently announced its plans to show a brand new concept called “XLV” at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show.
XLV will be a follow-up to the XIV-1 concept but with an overall length increased by 290mm to 4430mm which will grant the vehicle with a seven-seat arrangement in a 2+2+2+1 cabin layout. SsangYong clarified that the seventh seat will be able to slide between the second and third rows for an increased flexibility of the spacious cabin as a result of the generous 2600mm wheelbase.
Talking about motivation, the power of the B-segment SUV will be provided by a 1.6-liter 4-cylinder diesel engine working together with an electric motor and a lithium-ion battery pack to create a hybrid powertrain. The concept is 1845mm wide and 1600mm tall and utilizes SsangYong’s most recent “Nature born 3 motion” design language.
A production model based on the XLV concept will reportedly come out sometime in 2015 but the same is yet to be officially confirmed by the company which can be expected to be out in coming months.
The 84th Geneva Motor Show will begin in first week of March.
