Tesla has recently delivered their first Model S outside of North America.
The car which is a Model S Signature Edition, was delivered to Frederic Hauge from Norway who previously bought the first electric vehicle imported into Norway way back in the year 1989. Quite interestingly, Hauge continuously ran his original EV through toll booths without paying until the government seized his car.
But he never gave up and he would then buy the model back and continue his antics time and time again. This went on until the government realized that they need to take some stern action and finally decided to eliminate tolls on all electric vehicles.
Hauge was quoted saying that as Europe’s first owner of the Tesla Model S, he was indeed very proud to be a pioneer. He also mentioned that the wait for the Tesla model was quite frustrating but finally he has received it and it is indeed a great day for him.
The European rollout of the Model S is going to expand very soon as the deliveries are slated to occur in Switzerland and the Netherlands later in this month itself.
