Three people died and one was injured after a car crash on Wednesday on Highway 191 in Arizona at about 5:14 p.m.
The crash took place when a car reportedly crossed the centerline of Highway 191 and crashed with a tractor-trailer.
The driver of the tractor-trailer was not seriously injured, but a driver in a third vehicle was flown to a Tucson hospital for treatment.
A 50-year-old identified as Jennifer Lemons, 50, was northbound on U.S. Highway 191 when she reportedly crossed into the lane of a southbound tractor-trailer. The semi-truck tried to avoid a head-on crash, and the Kia sedan Lemons was driving hit the rear portion of the semi-truck.
The Kia then crashed with a Volkswagen sedan that was also southbound and was traveling behind the semi-truck. The driver of the sedan was flown to Tucson for treatment.
Lemons and her passengers, identified as Tony Plantz, 57, and Teresa Hammond, 58, died due to the crash.
Both northbound and southbound lanes were closed for multiple hours as investigation continued into the crash.
