Toyota Motor stated on Thursday it will extend a planned two-day shutdown of all North American plants through April 3 as coronavirus continues to spread.

The largest Japanese automaker stated Wednesday it prepared to shut down facilities on March 23 and 24 but stated it will now restart its plants on April 6.

About 14,366 people in the United States have been confirmed as being infected with the coronavirus. The virus has killed about 217 people in the country.
