Presented at the 2012 Tokyo Motor Show, the Toyota GRMN iQ Supercharger 2013 is one of those concepts that seems too good to be true. Being smaller than the smart fortwo, this year’s iQ is powered by a 1.3-liter turbocharged that now delivers 130 horsepower and 133 lb-ft of torque. The speed-gauge on the inside goes up to 200 km/h, but the standard car will most likely not hit such a high speed. This car has been designed by Toyota in collaboration with Gazoo Racing.
The power output from the engine will be transmitted to the wheels by using a close-ratio 6-speed manual transmission.
Additional modifications brought to this car are the widebody, an upgraded suspension and brake setup, and larger 16-inch wheel.
The Toyota GRMN iQ Supercharger 2013 will go on sale summer 2012. It will be produced in very small quantities – only 100 units will be manufactured.
There isn’t any word yet on how much such a vehicle would cost, nore is there any information available on the performance of this tiny vehicle concept.
