Toyota GT 86 sedan to use a turbocharged 2.0-liter engine, be launched in late 2016 – report

by SpeedLux

There have been many rumors about a Toyota GT 86 sedan since years but now finally new details are starting to emerge about this mysterious model.

According to Motoring’s sources, the Subaru Cross Sport concept provides a hint at what the production model could look like. As explained by them the model would be easy to bring the B-pillar forward, add a rear door and slant the rear roof section to create a viable sedan look.

The same source also confirmed that the model is in the process of being developed under the 734A codename and could have dimensions of 4750mm long, 1780mm wide and 1400mm tall with a wheelbase that spans 2750mm.

In order to compensate the additional weight, the model would reportedly come equipped with a turbocharged 2.0-liter engine. There are also rumors doing rounds about hybrid and all-wheel drive variants but as of now there is no confirmation if they will actually go into the production phase.

Well if everything pans out as thought, the sedan could be launched in the later half of 2016.
