The Aygo from Toyota is in fact still a considerably new vehicle model. Yet, the Japanese automaker has now decided to introduce another version of the car, a convertible, to the customers. This one will come with a retractable roof that Toyota dubs the x-wave roof.
This convertible variant of the Toyota Aygo will be offered in the x-pression models. The models are known to be coming with five doors in total. In addition to that, being a convertible, these x-pression models will also come with an electronically retractable roof that is made of canvas and is painted in the black color. Needless to say, though, the Toyota Aygo X-Wave Convertible is not all about a retractable roof.
As a matter of fact, according to the Japanese automaker, when it comes to this top down version of the Aygo, customers can also expect things like a pair of headlamps that are now infused with LED bulbs, gloss black accents, a parking or rearview camera, air conditioning system, the so-called x-touch vehicle infotainment system and also a set of bespoke alloy wheels measuring 15 inches in diagonal.
Now, what about the performance that this new offering from Toyota can possibly offer? Well, as it turns out, chances are, the top down version of the Aygo by Toyota will have a 1.0L 3-cylinder VVT engine. This engine is known to have the ability to spit out a total power of 69 bhp and a total torque of 95 Nm when it reaches its peak performance.
According to Toyota, it is going to start opening the order book for the Toyota Aygo X-Wave Convertible pretty soon and sales are expected to start at the United Kingdom, with other markets to potentially follow, of course. The asking price for the vehicle will start at GBP895 and that includes VAT.
