Realize it or not, the Avensis has always been one of the most successful models in the car lineups produced by the Japanese automaker Toyota. With that being said, it makes very good sense for the company to build the next generation model of the Avensis. Well, it seems that this is just what Toyota is doing. Only recently, a car has been spotted undergoing some performance tests of sorts around the infamous track of the Nurburgring, Germany. In spite of being fully covered under heavy camouflage, the car looks very much like the Toyota Avensis so there is a reason to suspect that this is in fact the 2016 model.
The car seems to borrow plenty of styling cues from its predecessor. Yet, the front fascia looks rather different now with the new model and it comes with sweptback headlamps as well. Besides those exterior elements, it seems that nothing much has changed in the new Avensis model. As for the interior, however, no one can really tell much just yet because the car was only spotted testing at the Nurburgring track, without its interior being revealed even a bit.
Another thing that still remains a mystery besides the interior is the engine options that the Japanese automaker will possibly be offering with this car. Some believe the engines will be available in two variants, diesel and gasoline engines. Well, there is even a probability that Toyota will be offering a plug-in hybrid variant for the model. However, official confirmation from Toyota is just scarce right now.
As its name implies, the 2016 Toyota Avensis will most likely be introduced come the year 2016, as reported by a number of media online. With that being said, customers will most likely be getting more updates on the model soon within the next few months.
