Toyota Yaris Hybrid-R concept fully revealed

Toyota has officially disclosed full details for its Yaris Hybrid-R concept that is scheduled to be unveiled at the IAA next week.

The Hybrid-R concept comes fitted with a four-cylinder 1.6-liter turbocharged engine producing 300 hp (224 kW) and 420 Nm (310 lb-ft) of torque which is transferred to the front wheels. Each of the rear wheels is driven by a 60 hp (45 kW) electric motor which means the two electric motors have a combined maximum output of 120 hp (89 Nm) available for up to five seconds when Track mode is activated. During this five-second interval, the concept has a maximum output of 420 hp (313 kW).

The model has been fitted with 18-inch TRD alloy wheel shod in Michelin Pilot Sport Cup tires with dimensions of 225/40 R18 and the stopping power coming from grooved and perforated discs that have six-piston calipers at the front and four-piston calipers for the rear.

Talking about the interior, the cabin comes fitted with GT 86-sourced sport pedals, dual-tone Recaro bucket seats with black leather side bolsters and blue Alcantara. The shift lever has now been positioned close to the driver’s right hand, while the sport steering wheel comes covered in Alcantara.
