Two killed after car crash on I-24, Nashville

A man and a woman were killed in a car crash in South Nashville on Sunday morning.

The husband and wife were involved in a two-car crash on I-24 West near Haywood Lane.

They were pronounced dead at the scene.

The identities of the two have been released as 62-year-old Scott Whitmore and 58-year-old Melanie Whitmore.

Both were from Kansas.

Scott lost control of his Honda Civic, struck the guardrail, and traveled back into the roadway, before being struck by a Ford F-250.

The driver of the truck had no injuries.

Cops are investigating the crash.
