Two killed after car crashes into St. Louis River in Minnesota

Two people were killed after a vehicle crashed into the St. Louis River near Cloquet in Minnesota on Tuesday.

An 80-year-old male identified as Steven Kimber of Carlton was driving a Ford Explorer south on Interstate 35 when the car left the highway and entered the river just afternoon, according to Minnesota State Patrol.

Kimber and his passenger, identified as 78-year-old Barbara Kimber, died after the crash.

According to officials, alcohol was not a factor in the crash and both victims were using seat belts at the time.

It is yet to be known that what caused the vehicle to leave the roadway and fall into the river.
